The UK Horseracing Authority (BHA) has welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors: Kyrsten Halley and Tara Warren. Both individuals bring extensive experience, especially in areas vital to the advancement of British racing such as online marketing and customer relations.
BHA Chair, Joe Saumarez Smith, warmly greeted Halley and Warren, emphasizing their enthusiasm for the sport and their remarkable achievements in the corporate world. He also acknowledged departing Director Laura Whyte for her committed service to the BHA Board over the previous nine years.
These selections are the result of a comprehensive recruitment process managed by the Thoroughbred Group and led by the BHA Nominations Committee.
Halley, presently the Marketing Director at Savills, possesses over ten years of leadership expertise. Her love for racing goes beyond her professional career – she is also the devoted owner of a retired Thoroughbred racehorse named Eclair Mag.
The new Chief Executive Officer, Warren, is enthusiastic about utilizing technology to engage a younger demographic in the world of equestrian sports. He posits that attracting a more youthful and varied audience is crucial to ensuring the enduring financial stability of horse racing. Warren is slated to formally assume his position as Executive Director on the Jockey Club’s board on December 1st, 2023.
In separate developments, William Hill and PA Betting have prolonged their data partnership encompassing global horse and greyhound racing.
