Enthusiasts declared the hiring of Orlando Ashford as the Head of Human Resources, setting the stage for their venture into the betting industry.

Ashford was brought on board as Fanatics’ Chief Human Resources Officer, managing the company’s human resources team and reporting directly to CEO Michael Rubin. His duties encompass culture, talent, diversity, and inclusivity. Ashford will also be accountable to Fanatics CFO Glen H. Schiffman for matters related to human resources infrastructure, strategy, policies, and operations.

Ashford will be working across Fanatics’ three core business segments – commerce, collectibles, and betting and gaming.

“From the moment I first met Michael Rubin and heard his vision for expanding Fanatics, I knew this was the perfect fit for me,” Ashford stated. “His vision is grounded in empowering the company’s exceptional global workforce and fostering a world-class culture.”

“Fanatics is a unique company that I have always held in high regard, and here I can dedicate my energy and expertise to further developing a diverse, platform-wide company culture, comprised of the best and brightest who aspire to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime company.”

Before joining Fanatics, Ashford held senior human resources positions at several Fortune 500 companies, including Coca-Cola and Motorola.

The significance of culture cannot be overstated, and our exceptional workforce across the globe is fundamental to our achievements,” Rubin remarked.

Fanatics presently concentrates on the sale of athletic attire, but its anticipated entry into the gambling sector seems inevitable.

The enterprise has not revealed the technological provider it will employ, following prior rejections of speculation regarding a collaboration with Amelco.

Earlier in the month, Rubin stated that Fanatics’ sports wagering division, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, will commence operations in January, subsequent to the company’s recruitment of a multitude of new personnel to augment its team, including Andrea Ellis as Chief Financial Officer, Jason White as Chief Marketing Officer, and former FanDuel executive Matt King as Chief Executive Officer.

“As our expansion continues, redoubling our commitment to organizational growth becomes increasingly crucial, and I can’t envision a more suitable individual for Orlando to spearhead this endeavor.”

He subsequently transitioned from the human resources department to assume the presidency of Holland America Line.
